Tesco Bags of Help Scheme

18 Sep 2018

Tesco Bags of Help Fundraising Scheme
We have been nominated and accepted by Tesco to take part in their Bags of Help Fundraising Scheme. We are looking to extend our playground area by providing an Outdoor Fitness Area and Tesco consider this to be a very worthy cause for our children.
The project, together with two other projects are currently being publicised in selected local Tesco Stores. In the store you will find a collection box with a compartment for each of the three projects. When you have paid for your shopping please, ask for some Bags for Help tokens and place them in the Ardleigh Green compartment. Please make sure you ask for the tokens as I understand that they are not always offered by the cashiers. Please use your powers of persuasion to ask for as many tokens as possible!
All purchases qualify for a token and there is no minimum spend. If you are using Self Checkout or Scan as You Shop please ask for tokens at Customer Services.
Please share the news with your family, friends and work colleagues. The other two projects, both support very worthy causes so we need as much support as possible from our parents and local community.
The scheme  runs until Wednesday 31st October. The winning project will receive £5000.

Our nearest participating stores are :
Ardleigh Green, Gallows Corner, Brentwood, Hornchurch, Romford, Rainham, Shenfield and Collier Row.

Happy Shopping and remember every little helps!
Kind Regards
Mr Morris
More about the Bags of Help Scheme

Bags of Help is Tesco’s local community grant scheme where the money raised by the carrier bag charge in Tesco stores is being used to fund thousands of community projects across the UK*. The projects must meet the criteria of bringing benefits to the community.
Bags of Help is administered by Groundwork who is working with greenspace scotland to support successful projects in Scotland.
How does Bags of Help work?

Bags of Help is always open for applications from charities and community organisations.
Applications are assessed by Groundwork to ensure they are eligible. In areas where application numbers are high, Tesco colleagues will shortlist the projects to determine which go forward to the customer vote.
Three community projects in each local area will be voted on by customers in Tesco stores throughout the UK, with projects changing every other month. Following the vote, the project that received the most votes in its area will receive a grant of up to £4,000, second place receiving up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000.
